A few days into a vacation and I begin to experience the delicious joy of taking note of the small things that make up life - even the challenge of pouring coffee from a carafe without the inevitable dribbling of coffee onto the side of the cup and the surface of the kitchen.
I realize that I have for long accepted the inevitability that the wretched thing will dribble (note the anthropomorphism of a glass container!). But without the urgency to move onto a schedule of tasks for the day, I set myself to view it afresh and believe that it is possible to pour coffee without dribbles. And... it worked. By the way this is no challenge unique to me (thank God!) - see http://housewares.about.com/od/coffeemakers/qt/pouringnodrib.htm and http://ask.metafilter.com/70272/Drippy-spout-feature-or-bug
Taking stock, not being confined by past experiences and renewed hope for change... and it worked!
Here's a lesson far more important that being satisfying a need for caffeine - yes?
