And so t
o Mel Gibson's film "The Beaver". At one level, at some points, the film is simply a "laugh out loud" experience; always good for the soul. And then I experienced movement to a deeper level - reflecting on the ways in which we are seduced into believing the lie that we are alone, that no-one really cares and that we dare not risk being open and vulnerable.Seems to me that as soon as the depressed person in the film acknowledges the lie, all becomes possible and welcoming in a life that knows it is loved and accepted.
